A little about this song:
Le Tigre has been a scattered concept in my brain since the early 2000's. The primary riff has carried over through multiple bands with me and ended up in multiple DnB & hybrid track demos in recent years. Originally, Mike was in studio to demo vocals for another song ("Congregation") and heard one of the Le Tigre demos - and immediately forced my hand into finishing it so he could do the vocals for it instead.

The concept has always been one I've loved... creating the character Le Tigre in the image of a forceful dictator. I have other concepts based around him that will likely emerge down the road... ;)

Special Thanks:
Mike Heckman for putting in a couple long nights to get this done and stepping out of your comfort zone. Can't wait to do some more tunes in the future!
Jon T - Thanks for setting my PRS! Also.. you tried. I have recorded proof of that much! ;)
Sean - Thanks for processing the guitars for me and the continued feedback on this one. It was a beast to mix!
Bret, Josh, Ally, and Kevin for continued feedback.

And finally... If you think it's about you... it probably is. So thanks for the inspiration - or something like that.

lyrics

Intro
What would you say if I told you
There's life outside these walls
No shackles, no chains, and no bonds
What would you say to me
Follow the stars and you'll find your new home
Tonight

Chorus 1
Keep your head down
And don't look up
They always know what's best for you

Verse 1
Chained to the wall
Always told that the sunlight
Was poison to our eyes
Theft of the night
Whispers echo through my mind
Stealing what was mine
Ashamed of what's become of me
The blackness in my eyes tells
Of years spent under the gun
Of what I should become

Chorus 2
Keep your head down
And don't look up
They always know what's best for you
Single file
Fall in line
It's your turn to die for their cause

Verse 2
Tell me I'm dead
I'll tell you I'm just dreaming
Of life outside these walls
Sun fades away
The shadows tell your secret
You're no saint after dark

Chorus 3
Keep your head down
And don't look up
They always know what's best for you
Single file
Fall in line
It's your turn to die for their cause

Bridge
Keep your head down (x4)
Head down and don't look up
They'll always know what's best for you

Final Chorus
Single file
Fall in line
It's your turn to die for their cause
Keep your head down
And don't look up
They always know what's best for you
Single file
Fall in line
It's your turn to die for their cause
